Hello Broncos – in case you’re staying in town over the summer, we wanted to share information on Summer 2024 housing options on campus. We have limited availability for summer housing and applications will be available for consideration on a first come, first serve basis at Noon on Wednesday, March 6th.
Applications for summer housing are NOT made through our Housing Portal but must be downloaded as a pdf from the ourHC Housing site, completed and submitted to the Housing Office (Hurley Mac 136) or via email to housing@hastings.edu. Summer housing applications will close on May 3rd, 2024.
Some details:
2023 Summer housing rates: Summer housing is available from the end of the Spring term through the start of the Fall term with the total cost of summer housing being $1,500. This is a summer-long lease - if you chose to stay over the summer for any period of time, you would be required to pay the full $1,500.
Summer housing payment dates: To secure your spot, an initial payment of $500 is due by May 3rd and may be submitted at any time between March 6th and then. Remaining payments of $500 each are due on or before June 15th and July 15th and can be paid to Student Accounts.
What’s included in the summer rate?
Room rates are for a single bedroom in a four-bedroom suite at BVA. The rate includes the costs of utilities, trash, internet, parking and furnishings.
Which apartment building will be used?
At this point, we aren’t sure given all the housing-related renovations starting this summer - but it will be one of the BVA units.
Am I able to select my roommates?
Only roommate requests that arrive to our office as 4 signed contracts in one email will be placed into one suite together. Room assignments are on a first come, first served basis and manually entered by the housing staff. If you have a roommate preference, you can note that request on the application but we are not able to honor this request unless you’ve reserved a suite as a group of four signed contracts arriving in one email - assuming we have capacity to do so.
***Summer Moving Schedule (fixed dates)***
Students stay in their spring housing space through May 17.
Summer check-ins at BVA are May 17-19th.
Summer check-outs are July 19-21 for students with campus housing placements for Fall 24 at which time those students will then move to their Fall housing space.
Summer check-out for Fall 2024 Off Campus approved students are July 26-28th.
Please plan accordingly with these dates in mind as they are fixed.
