Hastings College Residency Requirement
The Hastings College residency requirement reflects a commitment to personal growth through on-campus residency and serves to uphold the overall mission of the college. All first-year, sophomore and junior students, including Hastings area students, are required to live on campus unless they meet one of the criteria below:
Reside with their parent or legal guardian in their primary residence within a 30 mile radius of Hastings, Nebraska for the entire academic year
Have lived on campus 3 academic years/6 semesters
Are a part-time student

Will turn 22 before the start of the academic year (first day of classes)
Have their Associate’s degree after attending another institution, and will turn 21 within the school year
Request for a Special Exemption - Financial Issues (approval of this exemption will be evaluated by the Housing Committee)
*Bryan Students Only* Have 8 or less non-nursing credit hours to complete during my course of study
Those in violation of the off-campus residency policy or who falsify information to meet criteria are subject to being billed full room and board rate. If it is determined that a student, while under the 3 year residency requirement policy, is inhabiting an off-campus residence, while also maintaining an on-campus residence simply for appearances, and have confirmed a new off-campus address, they are subject to being removed from the housing system and being billed full room and board rates
